| Speke | Klein is committed to
reducing our company's impact on the environment. |
| |
| Sustainability: |
 |
Speke
| Klein’s furniture is built to last.
Our company focuses on high-quality raw materials,
traditional craftsmanship and timeless design,
resulting in furniture that is intended for
current and future generations, not for next
year’s landfill. |
|
| Locally made: |
 |
All Speke | Klein’s products are manufactured
in Southern Ontario using regional hardwoods,
for the North American market, thereby limiting
the environmental impact of material and product
transportation. |
|
| Raw materials: |
 |
Wood
is a natural product and renewable resource.
Speke | Klein uses only North American hardwoods,
sourced from responsibly managed forests. |
|
| Recycling practices: |
 |
Wherever
possible, all wood remnants are incorporated
into other products and wood waste is kept
to a minimum. The majority of Speke | Klein's
furniture designs can be disassembled so that
individual materials can be removed for re-use
or recycling. |
|
| Wood Finishes: |
 |
Our
European hand-rubbed oil finish has been approved
by independent laboratories such as the German
Institute for Biological Building Materials
and meets or exceeds the most stringent VOC
(volatile organic compounds) regulations in
North America. |
|
 |
Our
lacquer finish is HAPs (hazardous air particles)
free and has ultra low VOC (volatile organic
compounds) and formaldehyde release standards
(meeting European E-1 Standard). |
